Last night was awesome. Southpaw, the legendary Brooklyn venue for good underground hip hop music, closed it doors!
The last show was amazing! I arrived with my crew of loco’s and we went straight backstage. To my surprise, the phenomenal Pharoahe Monch just got off stage, along with the beautiful Jean Grae. It was dope because Pharoahe is a fan of my music and I had the chance to build with him for a few moments. I always appreciate those moments as an ‘artist on the grind’. Those special moments make all the struggles as an artist that much easier.
It seemed like all of underground hip hop was in the spot last night. Funny how through all I’ve experienced since coming to NYC 2years ago, I’ve seemed to have crossed paths with so many legends and artists on different levels. I’ve been on my grind. I’m thankful!
Reggie Osse & Dallas Penn hosted the event and held it down as they always do. It’s always nice to see Reggie in the mix. He’s definitely someone whom I’d like to model myself after as I grow older within hip hop.
Shout outs to Reggie & The Combat Jack Radio. The Company Man was also in the building. Last night was an honor to be apart of. There were so many positives of the night. The icing on the cake was when Jah C, whom organized the event, asked my homie Gramz and I if we wanted to spit a verse for the grand finale. F**king amazing, right! I go from just sending farewells, to rocking a packed house in front of some of my favorite artists and personalities. Amazing how life works. God is Great.
